CCSD Students Advancing to Regional Social Studies Fair

CCSD Students Advancing to Regional Social Studies Fair

Eight projects by Cherokee County School District students are headed to the Regional Social Studies Fair!

Through the annual CCSD Social Studies Fair program, students in grades 5-12 can explore an area of social studies and complete a research project individually or as part of a team.  Categories for projects are: anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science and sociology/psychology.  Students present their projects for review by judges at the CCSD fair, which is coordinated by the Office of Curriculum & Instruction, with top scoring projects advancing to the regional fair to be held this winter.

“Congratulations to all of our winners on your outstanding projects and best wishes at regionals,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “As a former middle school social studies teacher, I know the dedication students must have to conduct this research and complete an award winning project.  Thank you to our social studies teachers for your support of our students’ learning every day and for mentoring students who enter the fair.”
